This week was a short one due to the carnival holidays. We continue with the design of the foundry adapter for the die, we need to summit it next week. 

We also go to visit a company. Plastibor, located in Amorebieta. This company dedicated to plastics injection moulding.  They make us a little introduction of the company, how many companies are, we are they located , what are they job…. They show us the finished product and latter they show us the Factory. We separated in two groups. One of the groups go to see the machines and the injection of the plastic in the mould. The other one go to another section of the company, to see how  they assemble the pieces that have already finished.  After finished seeing one of the parts of the company two groups exchange to se the other one. 

It was a very good visit, we see all the process of the plastics injection in a very clear way and the people of the company was very nice to us. We learned a lot.

Apart of the visit we finished the week with a exam. About plastics and plastics injection.

This week we have had a carnival holidays, so we have hadnt got class in monday and tuesday. In the rest of the days we have continued with Asier's proyect. 

In thursday we gone to a company in Boroa, called Plastibor. In this visit we have learned a lot of the plastic injection process. They normally do a pieces for electric controls and they are the most important national company in this area. We saw different machines and elements to make the pieces in well way. After it we have to make a questionary about he visit and all we have learned. In this questionary they are questions about the process, materials, clients... 

Then we saw the assemblies of the electrical control machines.

Twentieth week

In this twentieth week we started in wednesday the classes for the halloween holidays,
so this has been a relative short week. in those three days we had an excursion to plastibor,
a industry located in industrial polygon of Boroa in Amorebieta. In this industry we have
seen plastic molds and different applications.

Apart of that we have made an Asier´s exame about plastics and molds, a short exam which
had dured one hour.

We didn't finish the base of Asier yet but we will finish it the next week.

We have visited a company that is located in Amorebieta called Plasticor, in which we have learned how is the process of injecting in mold, and also the parts of a machine for this.We have made pieces of surfaces in Catia and in EIE we have delivered the report.

Nineteenth Step

This week we have a lot of things to do. We started the week with two exams . The first one about our die, to see if we know the design that we are building, to see if we know the different pieces that complete our die and what is the function of this pieces. Apart of this we also make some calculus , about one of the die process.

The second exam was an English exam. Writing exam with whose theme was all of the things that we see al learned during the course.

But we do more things apart of exams.

We continue working with CATIA, learning and practicing how to design using surfaces . Making a lot of different pieces, in many different ways, using it . We also started seeing some theory of polymers, so that later we see injections molds.

We have a new project to do in a short time  design a foundry adapter for our die. The die is going to go above this adapter to give some height to it. If we don’t have this adapter the die can go in the press,  we need some height for the press to de his work and the die havent got it. So we are going to design this adapter and in order to see how the foundry and the foundry molds works we are going to suppose that this adapter is a foundry piece.  

We separated in pairs, in my case Anton and I make a team, and started with the design of the adapter. With the objective of making two designs for group.

Nineteenth week

To start this week we had to do two different exams. In the first one we have made it about our die, to know our implication in the proyect and how much we know about the pieces we design. This first exam had annother part too, with stuffing exercisses we learnt to do before.

The second exam was about the course in general and we did it during english casses so it has been in english.

We started a new proyect in Asier´s subject about a foundry base. We have to do it in pairs, in my case with Markel, and we have a few weeks to do it. The design has to be done in Catia, in the same product of the die.

This week we hyave done two exams. First exam was with Gaizka. We have shown how much we have learn about he dies. For it, Gaizka prepared a questionary about parts and function of a die. It was interesting and hard to do, because a few questions were difficlut to answer, there were questions about different materials and functions. In this exam were calculous about operations to do a revolution pieces with stuffing process. 

With Asier we have started a new proyect. This proyect is about a base of foundry material to positionate the die in the press. I am with Yaiza in this proyect.

We have had several tests with Gaizka, cutting and folding, also with Ane we have continued working in our company and with Catia as usual.A difficult week and we have talked again with iker for another recovery.

Eighteenth Step

This week we continue with the task of the previous week. The student of the mechanical course come sometimes to the class to ask about the drawings of the die . We works with them to solve their doubts and at the same time we do the follow up of the die. In the case of our group, TEN group, the student of mechanical course are doing a great job,  they are fast an efficient .They already make some pieces and I already measure it with the three-dimensional machine.

In other subjects we continue with the oral presentations in English , finished all the presentations this week.

With CATIA we make a lot of design and draws. We start with shapes a few weeks ago, but we almost do not practice. So this week we return to see how to design with shapes and we do some draws to practice with it.

Eighteenth week

In Julen´s Catia classes we started again with shapes, a tool that we had seen it already but we didnt do any exercises about it. In this exercises we have seen diferent ways to do the same piece.

We finnished the english presentatios too, because we didnt finish it yet the previous week. I made the presentatios this week so I had more time to prepare ir well.

In the proyect with 2CMM they continued doing the pieces that we had designed comming to class when they needed us to solve a problem. We made the control of the die too going to their class 2 or 3 times in a week.

This week we have learned new design in Catia. We have done some excercises with the Generative Shape Design. With this kind of piece we have done different surfaces and geometries. There are a lot of operations to make difficult pieces.

In other hand we have made the english presentation. In my case, I have done the presentation alone, because all the rest companions have done it in couples. I have prepared the presentation about a job and study of the future cars. In this therm there are some things to talk about, per example, the hybrid and electric cars and the different alternative stations to charge this new types of cars. These stations are in the street to can recharge them. 

In the job of the die we continue making the tracing of the fabrication of the pieces. We have a close comunication to solve with time the possible problems in the fabrication.

We have continued designing in Catia with the Shape module, and it is quite interesting for the casting base that we have to do after finishing the die.We have followed the pieces.And I did an exam with Iker because I had to recover the subject from last year.

Seventeenth Step

The students of mechanical course started making the pieces of the die the previous weeks. So in this point of the project of job is help this students. We do the draw of the pieces and check it, we also explain it to our companions of mechanical class , to make the work easier for them. We also need to check and follow up the fabrications, so each of us follow up the development of one of two pieces of the die. Making a table for it and updating it once a week ,to make a correct follow up.

We have a three-dimensional machine , so  we use it to take measures of the pieces that our companions finish  , and comparing the results with the plane, check the quality of the pieces . This machine is only used by a classmate of another team and me , we are the only ones that know how to use it ( both of us knowing how to use it because of the DUAL training in our corresponding companies)

With this machine we are helping in the follow up of the die, and making the posterior assembly easier.

We also have other jobs, we make a oral presentation for English class. We have four themes to choose and make the presentation about it. We can do it alone or in pairs, in my case I choose the robot theme and I do it with a classmate of another team.

seventeenth week

2 CMM students started making the pieces that we gave them last week. That pieces are made by F-1140 material being that the easiest to obtain for Maristak center. Our work was to check that those pieces are succeeding or not, and if there are not, we would tell them what has failed to repeat it.

We made the english presentations too, doing it by pairs in two diferent sesions. Aproximately each presentatios durations was about 10 minutes.

Some other few students made meditions in the tridimensional machine, mading the meditions of 2CMM students.

This week we have started with the tracing of the fabrication of our die. For this, we have created a document in Drive to put pictures of different pieces. In this document there are pictures and as little text with the description of the piece. This firt week of fabrication we have done (Our team of fabrication) some points of the pieces. In my piece. per example we have done the dimensions of the piece, and it is ready to enter in the electroerosion machine.

 The holes of the piece are going to mechanize in the last steps of the fabrication, because they must have a big precison

We have been working on the FMEA and on the list of materials that we have used in our designs, talking about their characteristics.We have also worked in Catia normally, and in EIE we have worked the expenses of the company.

Sixteenth Step

This week I have been out of class . I am doing internship (DUAL) in a foundry tooling company, and I have a training course in this company. They buy a new machine ,a machine of 3D scanning used to measure pieces and compare this measures with the design and the drawing. To check if the piece that we have build is correct.

They teach us how to use the machine and how to use two different programs, one to see the 3D scanning   and compare that with the 3D design (the CAD of the pieces) , and the other one to see the measures of this 3D scanning.

The first we learned all the theory and then we make some practice with pieces of our company. First using one of the programs and then the other one. Taking advantage of the four days of training to learned how to used the new machine and to check the pieces and assembles that we make.

It was a very interesting and productive course .

Sixteenth week

We started the week with some explanatios about making the AMFE and the list of materials for our die. Before that we finnished the plans for 2 CMM and we started preparing the presentation for english classes.

The presentations are going to be about diferent themes, like robothic, internet or hibrid cars.

In EIE subject we made an Excel to know the expences of our business in a year, taking in acount the materials wi have to use, the rent of the local etc.

This week we have to start with the AMFE, and for this Gaizka explained us all the parameters of this kind of document. The AMFE is a preventive document for the possible problems could have a die, in this case. The AMFE is preventive, so we have to anticipate the problems of the working and the press. I have said that is a corrective document, so in there has to appear the way to solve a problem. To make this document Gaizka shared with us an Excel book with the formulas to see what problems are the most important to solve and what problems are more repetitives. 

With Richard we have to make a presentation in Power point about different thems. We can choose to make it individually or in couples. We can choose too what them talk about. In my case, I have chose to do a presentation of future cars individually.

Fifteenth step

This is the first week after winter holidays. This days we started with a new phase of our project.  Our companions of the mechanical course need to make our design, so in order to do that they need the drawings of the different pieces that compose the design of our die.

So this week we need to do the drawings, as fast as possible. The teacher choose one of the groups of the class to coordinate the rest of the group, to organize better all the work. After that the different pieces that we had , each group taking charge of  some piece, not only for the drawing, also to verify it once the pieces are finished.

Our group is in charge of three pieces and this week we done the drawing of it. We divide the work between team members. Once the drawing and some documents that we need are made we send they to the group that coordinate everything.

Apart of that this week we put and end to the project that we were doing with other school, the pneumatic motor. Each group present their jobs in front of the classes of the two schools. Making a videoconference to do that.  We also have the defence of the project, between the team members and the two teachers,  each group separately.

Fifteenth week

After Christmas holidays we started comming to classes again. To begin the year we had to make the planes for CMM students who need it to make the die designed by Gaizka. We get organized everyone being responsable of one part of the die, puting the material that the piece need and the tolerances.

In the other subjects, like EIE, we made the costs of our product that we want to sell having an anual general cost and with that knowing more or less the price of the product.

In the Design Proyect we made the presentations before prepare it at christmas. I was the sixth group so I´d more time to prepare it in class tan other groups. After the presenations we made the defense of our design in front of the teachers.

After winter holidays we have to start with the fabrication of the die's design. For this, the students of the medium degrree of our voacational degree have to fabricate the different pieces of the design. So, they need the correct planes of them. 

We have distributed the pieces of our team. Markel, Soto and I have to do the guides of bending matrix's planes. Markel has to do a chock for the awles, Diego has to do the awles' planes and Yaiza has to do the matrixes holder's plane. This is my plane:

We have to start with the draws of the planes, in this way, Gaizka will correct them fastly.

It is the first week after the winter holidays and we have started strong making the plans of the chosen die, each one his own and we have also used Autocad for EDM.

We have worked in Catia normally, and we have continued working in the company with several reports.

Fourteenth step

We already have the 3D design of our motors, so this week we done the drawings of the motor and also of the documentation that we need in order to do the memory of the project. This is the last week to finish this short project, so ,the last day before the winter holidays we turn In the project. Remaining only the presentation of it.

Also,because is the last week to finish the motor and the last week before holidays, this was a “light” week. Apart of finish the project we only watched a film in English subject, a film called “Catch a Fire”

Fourteenth week

To start this week we had to complete our 3D design of our motor for the design proyect with Salesianos. In this proyect we had to make the notebook with the diferent points we processed. Once we finnished it, we only had to do the ppt of the presentation.

Apart of the motor proyect we have no other special things to do in class. In english we started a film called Catch a Fire and we saw it in a few classes.

ANTON EGUIA

All this week we have to make the design of our pneumatical motor, another time to comply the terms of the challenge. We have done the 3D design in the software Solidworks, because they dont use Catia. In the design we done there are some things we have to change because the geometrical parameters and the funtion of the design of the pneumatical motor. 

In the subject of english we started to watch a film called Catch a fire. There is not time to watch it in one class, so we have to use two classes to watch it at all.

We have continued making the engine in which we are working with the Salesianos colleagues, the design is finished, also the plans and the report that goes with them.We also saw a movie called Catch on Fire in English, it was a special day.We continue working in Catia normally.
