Third step

DIEGO MATEO

For the past week, we’ve been learning to do the calculation of forces with Gaizka, bending forces, cut forces, and we’ve analyzed the dimensions of the stripe that will be introduced into the progressive die that we are going to design for the next few weeks.

We’ve also analyzed the types of press that we can find in the challenge, like mechanicals or the hydraulic ones, and we did all of that with Asier, who also helped us with the load notebook.

We’ve worked on the scheme that we’ll have to follow for the design as well as for the fabrication, type approval, and industrialization of the progressive die, and we’ve also worked on how the following process will be.

We’ve done the planning of the project via an app of Drive called GANTTER, which has helped us to clear our heads when we’re thinking of the dates that we have to deliver every part but also of how long will the project take.

Also with Gaizka we have analysed which should be the position of the pieces inside of the stripe; the different types of distributions: the normal, the inverted one and the oblique.

With Julen we’ve started to learn new techniques of CATIA, and we’ve done the pieces that  appear in the report, paying special attention into the sizes and the stage directions.

In this week the teachers continue giving us theory. The last week we started with the blend processes. The first days of this week we continue with that, specifically we started  with the forces used in the blend. We need to know how to calculate that , to know the force our die is going to need to blend the material and make our piece.  Once we finished with the theory of blend we started with the theory of cutting processes.  The first thing we see about that is the best disposition of the piece in the sheet. This disposition only take into account the use of the material, how much material is left over ( the less the better). The truth is that apart from that we need to consider many factor to know the best disposition.

Continuing with the cutting processes we also see the force we are going to need to cut the piece . This depends of the material we are going to cut, the thickness of this material and the geometry of the tolls we are going to used to make the cut.  We also maked practical exercises of all of this.

On the other hand we also continue with CATIA design program. This week we see some of the basic commands of the program, like last week. To practice this we make same simple pieces. Also we make a mock exam , which consisted of making the pieces the teacher (Julen) give us in the given time. In this way we know how the exam will be and what will be evaluated in it. We know how how we have to do it.

Apart of that we have two more subjects, English and EIE ( Empresa Iniciativa Emprendedora, Company Initiative). We dedicate few hours a week to this subject, so we haven´t got a lot of time for it. In EIE we need to do a fictitious company, we decide what services provide and what to sell in the first days. In this week we complete that making a Business Canvas, with is a a visual chart with elements describing a firm's or product's value proposition, infrastructure, customers, and finances.

On the other hand, in English we started making some Listening exercises.

To finish the week we updated the planning of our proyect.

ANDONI SOTO

In this past week we started some new theory with gaizka about bending and cutting, finnishing that type of theory. When we finished that theory, we made a exam with a practic and theoric part about cutting.

Apart of Gaizka´s subject, we continued with our proyect of EIE doing the Organization chart and explaining it in a blog in Drive. In tha Organization chart we put how our business will work and what´s our number of employers for any part.

At last we continued with diferent tools in catia, finnishing the box and learning another type of tools like revolution.

MARKEL ZEARRETA

This week, with Gaizka, we end with the cut and bend theory. At the end of the subject,  we did a theoretical/practical examination.

In the subject of bussines (Ane), we made an organizational chart explaining how many workers our company counted. With Julen, on the other hand, we learn different tools in Catia, such as the Ass.

ANTON EGUIA

In the third week of the class we have done a lot of excercises in different areas. In the subject of Gaizka per example, we have done many excercises of different cutts made with cutting tools after learn the theory.

We started with the theory of the extraction force too, looking the theory about the broaches and their properties: Sharp, width, diameter... All this concepts we learned about the broaches was applicated to made a excercise about the functioning of a concret die. We made too another excercise about the bent theory we learned the first two weeks.

In Catia we saw new concepts of the programm to continue with the learning of it. To practice these commands we have done a lot of relative simple excercises. We have seen new patterns like rectangular and circular pattern to make easier the construction of our pieces.

With Ane we have done the Project to see our activity in the company in the future. We have separated the different areas of our company and analized them. Then we putted different roles in the team.
